Complete Pixel Artist: Bring Your Game Ideas to Life
Turn your 2D game ideas into a full pixel art asset library.
Level Up Your Pixel Art Skills

Bring Your Game Ideas to Life
You don't need an art background to make great pixel art, just the right guidance. This course starts with the fundamentals: shapes, colour, lighting and texture, the core principles every pixel artist relies on. It then guides you step by step until you're building assets from scratch with real confidence.

Craft Assets Players Notice
It's the small details like icons, buttons, potions that make a game feel finished rather than thrown together. You'll draw a full set of items and custom fonts, then build out furniture, barrels and treasure chests. You'll apply the same lighting and colour rules throughout, helping everything look like it belongs in the same game.

Turn Sprite Sheets into Real Levels
Construct top-down and platformer sprite sheets for grass, caves, water and dungeon settings using repeatable edge and corner logic (no-one wants tiles that don't line up!). Then create full landscape backgrounds with skies and clouds behind them. This is where your levels stop being scattered sprites and start looking like a place, just like in your favourite pixel game.

Design Your Heroes, NPCs and Bosses from One Template
You don't need to be a character artist to fill your game with heroes, NPCs and bosses. Starting from one reusable base template, you'll design slimes, flying enemies, humanoids and quadrupeds, keeping proportions and colour palettes consistent across every character you create.

Make Your Game World Feel Alive
Static sprites are only half the story, a game world with no movement feels like it's paused. You'll add walk, jump and fly cycles to your characters, then bring fire and water to life with a handful of frames and the right timing. By the final project you're combining your own characters, tiles, UI and animation into one complete pixel art world, built entirely from scratch, no cheat codes required.

Ever wanted to build the pixel art for your own game, not just use someone else's?
You don't need a traditional art background to do it, just the right guidance. Complete Pixel Artist takes you from a blank canvas to a full library of professional, game-ready art, sprites, tilesets, UI and animation, all built in one consistent style.
You'll start with the fundamentals: shapes, colour, lighting and texture, the core principles every pixel artist relies on. From there you'll build real game assets step by step, using the same repeatable rules a professional pixel artist would use, so nothing you make ends up a one-off that doesn't match the rest.
Reece uses Aseprite throughout the course, but you're free to follow along in Libresprite (free), Photoshop (if you already use it for other work) or Piskel (also free).
What's in the course?
- Foundations: software setup, core tools and hotkeys, clean lines, canvas sizing, lighting and texture
- Game-ready assets: UI, icons, potions, custom fonts and complete HUDs, plus furniture, barrels and treasure chests
- Worlds and tilesets: top-down and platformer sprite sheets for grass, cave, water and dungeon settings, plus full landscape backgrounds
- Characters: heroes, NPCs and bosses, built from slimes, flying enemies, humanoids and quadrupeds using one shared template
- Animation: walk, jump and fly cycles for your characters, plus fire and water effects to bring your world to life
By the end you'll have the skills to build your own complete pixel art world from scratch, and every asset in it, ready to drop straight into your game engine.

Reece Geofroy
Hi, I’m Reece!
I have been tinkering with pixel art and game development since I was 16.
Growing up in a large family; video games were a huge part of my childhood. Inspired by my older siblings trying to create my own games, I eventually made it my goal to one day start my own game studio and develop video games for a living. Fast forward to the present day, I am the CEO of Boundless Games, creating modernized-pixelated games influenced from the games I grew up with.
I have also garnered a fanbase for myself online through my game development YouTube channel, where I discusses the realities of full-time game development, help beginner pixel artists find their way, and teaches valuable lessons that I’ve learned from my own past mistakes and current obstacles.
